Chalobah Expected to Replace Guehi in Three Lions Squad
Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the twenty-first pair of brothers to be selected for the national team.
The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the Three Lions selection to cover for unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to link up with the squad for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, but it has not yet been confirmed.
The Three Lions have already secured qualification for the upcoming World Cup.
Chalobah was given his maiden selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then earned his first cap against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the team for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the next October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an important presence in Chalobah's career, having awarded him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.
Chalobah has featured in almost every fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the group stage of the European competition.
Guehi picked up a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are expected to be additional additions to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has said that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the national team.
