Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the region, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Broad Destruction

Locals observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

At one point on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.

Meteorological Predictions

Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.

The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.

Health Warning

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
