The incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
